Weekly Recap - 14 July 2024

It's been one month since the launch of Demo Disk! In four weeks, there's been plenty of content to keep the site busy: 23 articles spanning from reviews, previews, and the Flashback series about the legacy of older Flash titles.

Dumbino by Sweet Dreams Studio is a charming sandbox game where players align a colorful set of dominoes and other elements to push, roll and topple their way through a series of physics puzzles. Meticulously building domino lines is relaxing, at least until you wrestle with the anxiety of accidentally toppling them all! Release of the full game is expected in Q4 2024. Check out the demo here.

Pie in the Sky by Monster Shop Games is an upcoming arcade-style game in the vein of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games, if Tony Hawk were actually a bird and terrorized people instead of doing flips. Players navigate levels to complete timed challenges, including to swoop unsuspecting pedestrians, damaging property and collecting food. The game is still in alpha, with a demo forthcoming in October.

Pillow Fight by Jon Topielski is a card-based deck-building game with a fun twist around defeating distractions that distract a restless sleeper. Gameplay mechanics are based around using a wide variation in abilities, cards and conditions to flip coins that either lead the player towards a restful slumber, or dragging them ever deeper into insomnia! The full game can be played here.

Red Entropy by AetherAltar is a horror exploration game in the vein of Dead Space in which players are navigating and exploring a decrepit space station. The game's eerie atmosphere is supplemented by a very far-out existential concept of survival in the face of dying stars in the far future. The full game should be out sometime around mid to late 2024. A demo is playable here.
